Donation Policy
Last updated: March 3, 2025
This Donation Policy explains how Rising Beyond Borders receives, stewards, and acknowledges gifts. It complements our Privacy Policy and Terms and applies to donations made online, by bank transfer, or in person.
Purpose and scope
We rely on the trust of donors to serve widows, orphans, and vulnerable communities. This policy outlines the principles that guide how we accept, process, and use contributions.
By donating, you agree to this policy. If you have questions or need clarification, please contact us before giving.
How we accept donations
- Online one-time and recurring gifts via our website and approved payment processors.
- Bank wires, checks, and other large gifts arranged directly with our team to ensure safe processing.
- In-kind gifts (such as supplies) considered on a case-by-case basis to confirm they meet program needs and safety standards.
- We may decline a donation if it conflicts with our mission, legal obligations, or ethical guidelines.
Use of funds and restrictions
- Unrestricted gifts are directed to the greatest need across programs and operations.
- We honor reasonable donor restrictions when feasible and lawful. If a project is fulfilled or impractical, funds may be reallocated to a similar purpose that supports vulnerable families.
- We do not accept gifts that require us to act outside our mission, violate laws, or create undue risk.
Receipts and acknowledgments
- We issue donation acknowledgments/receipts using the contact details you provide.
- Recurring donors receive confirmations for each installment or a consolidated summary where applicable.
- For tax deductibility, please consult your advisor; requirements vary by jurisdiction.
Recurring donations and changes
- You can update, pause, or cancel a recurring gift by contacting us with reasonable notice before the next scheduled charge.
- If a payment fails, we may retry processing or contact you to update details.
- Changes to payment methods or amounts may take one billing cycle to apply.
Refunds and corrections
Donations are generally final. If you believe a transaction was made in error, unauthorized, or duplicated, please reach out within 14 days so we can review and, where appropriate, issue a correction or refund.
Fees and stewardship
Payment processors may deduct transaction fees before funds are received. We work to keep administrative costs lean and prioritize delivering aid efficiently and transparently.
Transparency and reporting
- We maintain records of donations consistent with privacy and regulatory requirements.
- We report on impact and financial stewardship through updates and, where available, audited financials.
- Personal data is handled according to our Privacy Policy; payment details are processed securely by trusted providers.
